Jesus was a "drag queen"?! Seriously?
Canadian school board official makes wild claim on Good Friday
A Canadian school board official and LGBT activist faced swift backlash during Holy Week over a tweet purportedly claiming that Jesus Christ was a “drag queen.”
Sara Savoia, a former teacher who The Blaze reports identifies herself using “plural pronouns,” has locked her account after the Good Friday message stating, "Here's a reminder that Jesus himself was a radical activist... and a drag queen. And also not white. Happy Easter to all those celebrating!"
The tweet reportedly was accompanied with an illustration of Jesus sitting with children captioned, "Oh look, it's a man in a dress telling stories to children."
This is a clear reference to Drag Queen Story Hour events, which have grown in popularity over the last ten years and became a major cultural flashpoint in 2022.
It is unclear if Savoia earnestly believes Jesus was a drag queen or was simply joking as the Messiah is often depicted wearing a tunic typical for men of the time in which He lived on earth.
She has since locked her Twitter account.
Savoia is the “Trans and Gender Diverse Student Support Coordinator” to the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, one of the largest in the nation.

A new report found that abortions decreased by 96% in states that have implemented near-total or total abortion bans since Roe v. Wade was overturned last year.
The thirteen states, Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin saw an average of over 7,000 fewer abortions per month from July to December 2022 compared to the two months prior to the Supreme Court’s June decision.
Georgia, Ohio, and Arizona, which passed restrictions at certain ages in pregnancy, also saw monthly declines ranging from roughly 1,800 to 750, respectively.
This is based on a study by the Society for Family Planning based on data from clinics, private medical practices, hospitals, and telehealth clinics. It does not include abortions attempted illicitly.
The report “means babies are being saved,” research associate Tessa Longbons with the Charlotte Lozier Institute told LifeNews. “It means women are being protected from the harms of abortion.”
Unfortunately, states that permit abortion saw an average monthly increase of 1,858 more abortions.

A live music venue in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has put a stop to future “all ages” drag shows after citizen journalists caught a performer in one such event exposing himself to children.
The Blaze reports that independent journalist Tyler Hansen posted footage he obtained from inside the event to Twitter late last month, writing that “During the show, a drag queen sat with his legs open and exposed his crotch to children in the crowd.”
"Children were being encouraged by parents to hand money to the Drag Queens and wave Trans flags around,” he explained further.
Sara Gonzalez, executive director of Defend Our Kids: Texas, was recognized at the door and turned away, but would later go on to tell the network (where she works as a show host) that this didn’t thwart efforts to infiltrate the performance.
"What they didn't know was that I had a team of citizen journalists spread throughout the entire venue getting footage of the performers dancing for and receiving tips from children," she said.
Gonzalez later shared a celebratory tweet explaining that Tulips, the venue that hosted the drag show.
"VICTORY!! Tulips confirmed with us that they will NO LONGER host 'all ages' drag shows at their venue. Their landlord saw our coverage and said ABSOLUTELY NOT," she wrote.
"Activism works. Pressure works. Sunlight is the best disinfectant," she told The Blaze.
Amen to that!
