“All Ages” Drag Show Performer Exposes Himself to Children
The Texas venue that hosted the event has put a stop to future shows thanks to the work of citizen journalists
A live music venue in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has put a stop to future “all ages” drag shows after citizen journalists caught a performer in one such event exposing himself to children.
The Blaze reports that independent journalist Tyler Hansen posted footage he obtained from inside the event to Twitter late last month, writing that “During the show, a drag queen sat with his legs open and exposed his crotch to children in the crowd.”
"Children were being encouraged by parents to hand money to the Drag Queens and wave Trans flags around,” he explained further.
Sara Gonzalez, executive director of Defend Our Kids: Texas, was recognized at the door and turned away, but would later go on to tell the network (where she works as a show host) that this didn’t thwart efforts to infiltrate the performance.
"What they didn't know was that I had a team of citizen journalists spread throughout the entire venue getting footage of the performers dancing for and receiving tips from children," she said.
Gonzalez later shared a celebratory tweet explaining that Tulips, the venue that hosted the drag show.
"VICTORY!! Tulips confirmed with us that they will NO LONGER host 'all ages' drag shows at their venue. Their landlord saw our coverage and said ABSOLUTELY NOT," she wrote.
"Activism works. Pressure works. Sunlight is the best disinfectant," she told The Blaze.
Amen to that!
