Abortions Decrease By 96% in States With Post-Roe Bans in Place
“Babies are being saved…women are being protected from the harms of abortion.”
A new report found that abortions decreased by 96% in states that have implemented near-total or total abortion bans since Roe v. Wade was overturned last year.
The thirteen states, Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin saw an average of over 7,000 fewer abortions per month from July to December 2022 compared to the two months prior to the Supreme Court’s June decision.
Georgia, Ohio, and Arizona, which passed restrictions at certain ages in pregnancy, also saw monthly declines ranging from roughly 1,800 to 750, respectively.
This is based on a study by the Society for Family Planning based on data from clinics, private medical practices, hospitals, and telehealth clinics. It does not include abortions attempted illicitly.
The report “means babies are being saved,” research associate Tessa Longbons with the Charlotte Lozier Institute told LifeNews. “It means women are being protected from the harms of abortion.”
Unfortunately, states that permit abortion saw an average monthly increase of 1,858 more abortions.
I hope this is accurate, babies lives are saved and they deserve to live. Praise God.
