Texas AG sues NCAA over false advertising for including men in women’s sporting events
"When people watch a women's volleyball game…they expect to see women playing against other women — not biological males pretending to be something they are not.”
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has worked hard to rid the Lone Star State of gender ideology, but he may have come up with his most creative approach yet.
The Republican AG is now suing the NCAA over false advertising claims for presenting sporting matches that may include biological men as “women’s events.”
Ha!
First things first, Paxton made sure to address the serious safety issues posed to female athletes when they are forced to compete against men.
"The NCAA is intentionally and knowingly jeopardizing the safety and wellbeing of women by deceptively changing women's competitions into co-ed competitions," he said in a statement.
"When people watch a women's volleyball game, for example, they expect to see women playing against other women — not biological males pretending to be something they are not. Radical 'gender theory' has no place in college sports,” he continued.
The Christian Post notes that the brunt of the legal argument against the collegiate athletic association is that when customers attend a “women’s” event, they pay to see women compete — not men.
"The NCAA is further engaging in false, deceptive, and misleading practices by failing to disclose to consumers which participants in 'women's' sporting events are women and which are men, leaving consumers who want to purchase goods and services associated with women in women's sporting events confused and frustrated," the filing states.
"Disclosure of all male participants in women's sporting events or rebranding of the event as 'mixed' or 'co-ed,' would allow consumers the choice of whether to purchase goods and services associated with the event, whether in support or protest, and allow rival teams, players, and member schools to decide whether to participate in the event,” it recommends.
This lawsuit may seem rather superficial, but in reality, it strikes at the core of what is so harmful about gender ideology.
Gender theory has always relied upon an intentional and dangerous nebulous re-definition of not only the word “woman,” but the very essence of our humanity.
Human beings are made male and female. Gender theorists do not simply argue that a man can dress up as a woman and use a woman’s name. They argue that a person’s “gender” is something that can be separate from their sex.
Unfortunately, something that is masqueraded as an answer to gender dysphoria, when someone feels as though they are a member of the opposite sex, has been extended to all of society in a twisted argument to do away with the concept of sex entirely.
The problem is, most people who identify as transgender simply want to be considered as a member of the opposite sex along the binary.
We can laugh at how absurd this is, but it has very serious ramifications in the real world, such as doing away with female-specific spaces for sports.
It’s good to see so many leaders tackling this serious issue head-on, let us pray that we see the entire apparatus of gender theory dismantled in 2025!
