“Wicked” merchandise for kids directs them to graphic pornography site
Dolls, singing figures, and other collectables are being pulled from store shelves as Mattel blames unfortunate “misprint”

Mattel is in hot water following a horrifying “misprint” on several products released to promote the movie “Wicked.”
The Daily Wire recently reported that packaging on the dolls, figures, and collectables directed customers to a graphic porn website instead of the film’s promotional website, as intended.
“Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel Wicked collection dolls, primarily sold in the U.S., which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page,” the toy company said in a statement on Monday.
“We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this. Parents are advised that the misprinted, incorrect website is not appropriate for children. Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or obscure the link and may contact Mattel Customer Service for further information.”
“Not appropriate for children” is putting it lightly. The packaging directed customers to wicked.com, which publishes graphic adult content, according to DW.
The “Wicked” doll collection was pulled from Target earlier this week, with retailers almart, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Best Buy, DSW, and Amazon working to remove the products from their offerings as well.
I have an honest question — who on earth could have missed a mistake this big? This seems like an incredibly significant detail. I’m not necessarily implying that anyone did this intentionally…but if they had, would it look any different?
Just saying.
I have no idea -- I've completely lost the plot on this one -- what's this remake all about? That photo of Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West in the bubble looks just hideous.
How is this still a story for kids?
