Trump Hosts “Sound of Freedom” Screening With Jim Caviezel, Tim Ballard
“That was a great movie.”
Former President Donald Trump hosted actor Jim Caviezel and real-life former DHS agent Tim Ballard for a screening of the film based on Ballard’s efforts to rescue children from sex traffickers in Columbia, “Sound of Freedom.”
The film has been a breakout hit and a favorite of conservative audiences, but has received highly politicized reviews from the establishment media which has tied it to “QAnon” conspiracy theories, despite it being based on a true story.
Kari Lake, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, and Paula White were among those in the former president’s inner circle who attended the event, with White offering a pre-screening prayer, The Epoch Times reported.
“It’s been pretty crazy out there. It’s a vicious world. These are vicious people; these are very sick people—they’re deranged,” Trump said in remarks before the movie, which has become intertwined in the public eye with his political career. “We have a lot of them out who really don’t stand for what we stand for. But for some reason, the public understands it better than they’ve ever understood it before and are stepping up like I’ve never seen before.”
After watching the film, during which conservative commentator Jack Posobiec noted on Twitter he remained riveted, sitting between Ballard and Caviezel, Trump applauded the “grate movie,” noting he could “see why it’s doing so well.”
“Sound of Freedom” has been an unexpected wild success at the box office, with sales surpassing the latest installments of the classic franchises “Indiana Jones” and “Mission Impossible.”
