Trans athlete sparks protests for dominating girls’ championship
“[I’m a] 16-year-old girl with a mad attitude. You think I’m going to care?”
A 16-year-old transgender athlete has sparked controversy after dominating in a girls’ track championship in California.
The teenager, AB Hernandez, recently told local media that he thinks it’s “weird” that anyone would object to him competing against girls or – as was the case – standing beside him on the 1st place podium, having to share their hard-fought spot because as a male he easily beat them.
“It’s definitely crazy, I get a lot of hate comments, but I’m like, ‘I don’t care,’” Hernandez told Sacramento’s KCRA.
“[I’m a] 16-year-old girl with a mad attitude. You think I’m going to care?”
Hernandez’s inclusion at two girls’ track and field state title events sparked protest and also came just days after President Donald Trump had issued pointed threats to the state of California over allowing males to compete against females.
The transgender athlete, who has reportedly been competing in track and volleyball for several years in his district in Southern California, took first place in the girls’ high jump and the triple jump as well as second place in the long jump on May 31. Fox News notes that Loren Webster, who took first place for the long jump, was the only female to finish ahead of Hernandez for any event.
Fox News reports that just ahead of the titles event, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) made “sweeping” rules changes to try to ensure more fairness for female competitors, meaning that the girls who would have otherwise taken first and second place had Hernandez not competed received the medals they would have been rewarded and shared the podium with him during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the scene at the Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Clovis where Hernandez was competing appears to have been quite tense.
At one point, an altercation between pro-LGBT activists and protesters advocating for girls-only sports became violent, with one arrest being made.
However, Sophia Lorey of the California Family Council said she was escorted out of the stadium for passing out “Save Girls’ Sports” wristbands in protest.
Hernandez’s own attitude that he “doesn’t care” about the people who are upset by his presence at the track meet speaks volumes as to how the gender agenda operates.
When transgender athletes insist on being included in sports meant for women-only, they do not merely insist on fair or equal treatment. They insist on special treatment that to the biologically male means advantageous treatment when it comes to competitive events like track and field, swimming, boxing, or MMA.
It may be a fair coping mechanism to not care what your critics think, but if you are accused of not caring abut anyone but yourself as it is, that’s not a particularly good look. Hernandez is, admittedly, a “mad” child who likely needs a lot more than the opportunity to play sports as a girl to thrive. We must pray he gets it and still has a shot at a healthy, mature adulthood, before it’s too late.
Thanks for only using the 1st four letters (LGBT). That's all that's needed to describe this agenda
