Prominent atheist Ayaan Hirsi Ali has publicly shared her conversion to Christianity in a compelling piece that highlights the value and veracity of the world’s most prominent religion.
Ali, who grew up in a Somalian community that came under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood when she was a teenager, is best known for her vocal criticism of Islam and has counted famed atheists Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens as friends.
She explains that her inclusion among these “New Atheists” began in 2002 when she came across a 1927 lecture from Bertrand Russell entitled “Why I Am Not A Christian.”
“It did not cross my mind, as I read it, that one day, nearly a century after he delivered it to the South London branch of the National Secular Society, I would be compelled to write an essay with precisely the opposite title,” she writes in her piece for UnHerd, “Why I am now a Christian.”
She explains that at the time, she became convinced that it was impossible to separate Islam from the violence perpetrated in its name on September 11, 2001, despite what many scholars, journalists, and intellectuals attempted to claim.
When she discovered Russell’s lecture, she believed she had found an escape route from the fear Islam leveraged to capture its adherents, and dismissed all religions as being founded on the same basis.
However, she did not find freedom from fear in atheism.
Ali makes a compelling case for why Christianity is the only way the secularized west can stand against the rise of the “woke” mob and threats from our enemies.
“In this nihilistic vacuum, the challenge before us becomes civilizational,” she writes. “We can’t withstand China, Russia and Iran if we can’t explain to our populations why it matters that we do. We can’t fight woke ideology if we can’t defend the civilisation that it is determined to destroy. And we can’t counter Islamism with purely secular tools. To win the hearts and minds of Muslims here in the West, we have to offer them something more than videos on TikTok.”
“Unless we offer something as meaningful, I fear the erosion of our civilisation will continue. And fortunately, there is no need to look for some new-age concoction of medication and mindfulness,” she also writes. “Christianity has it all.”
However, she also explains that these are not the only reasons she has accepted Christ.
“I have also turned to Christianity because I ultimately found life without any spiritual solace unendurable — indeed very nearly self-destructive. Atheism failed to answer a simple question: what is the meaning and purpose of life?”
Praise the Lord! Let us pray fervently for Ali as she embraces the faith of the One True God!

The Canadian Powerlifting Union has suspended a female athlete after she publicly criticized the inclusion of male athletes in competitions for women.
“I now face a 2-year ban by the CPU for speaking publicly about the unfairness of biological males being allowed to taunt female competitors & loot their winnings,” April Hutchinson wrote on X last week.
“Apparently, I have failed in my gender-role duties as ‘supporting actress’ in the horror show that is my #sport right now,” she continued. “Naturally, the CPU deemed MY written (private) complaint of the male bullying to be ‘frivolous and vexatious.’”
“This... Even though a 13-page letter was sent to the CPU in October thoroughly debunking all accusations. Obviously, someone had to pay the price for the IPF forcing CPU to be more female-friendly,” she continued.
“Let this be a lesson to all female athletes to shut-up and put-up with #SexDiscrimination. In truth, my fight does not stop here.”
The Daily Mail notes that the suspension came as a result of comments Hutchinson made on Piers Morgan’s show Uncensored regarding Anne Andres, a man who identifies as a woman and who smashed a number of women’s weightlifting records earlier this year.
“It's been very disheartening, that national record that he broke athletes have been chasing that for years,” Hutchinson said. “It just goes to show the physical advantages that a male has over a female.”
“I will keep speaking out about fairness, because women deserve that. It's completely unfair, it's bodies that play sports not identities,” she also said.

JP Morgan Chase has been ordered by a federal judge to pay out $290 million to victims of the notorious late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 awaiting charges for child sex trafficking, gained notoriety before his arrest for trafficking underage girls for sex which many believe he shelled out to his rich and powerful associates such as Bill Gates, the United Kingdom’s Prince Andrew, and former President Bill Clinton.
The Manhattan-based financial firm has been implicated by the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Epstein had a private island where he appears to have conducted much of his illicit activities.
The New York Times reported that the settlement “closes an important chapter in the Epstein saga centering on the role of big banks in enabling his conduct to continue for nearly two decades.”
“The money being paid by JPMorgan, the nation’s biggest bank, could provide compensation to nearly 200 victims of Mr. Epstein, according to a legal filing. JPMorgan and lawyers for the victims reached a preliminary settlement in June, averting a potential civil trial in federal court in Manhattan,” the newspaper noted.
The deal received support from fifteen of Epstein’s victims, who were unnamed. One wrote that she was just 13 when first preyed upon by Epstein and suffered severe mental health issues as a result.
Last year, Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted for grooming underage girls to serve as veritable sex slaves to her wealthy and shadowy former paramour.
JPMorgan Chase also previously agreed to pay $75 million in a separate complaint to Epstein victims and the U.S. Virgin Islands, which accused the bank of having “facilitated and sustained” the sex trafficking.
“Far from the so-called ‘ordinary’ banking services JPMorgan claims it provided to Epstein, JPMorgan broke every rule to facilitate Epstein’s sex-trafficking and feed off his wealth and connections,” the previous complaint against the bank alleged.
