Sacramento libraries partner with Planned Parenthood to give condoms to the public
"It's a little shocking," said one concerned parent.
Nearly half of Sacramento Public Libraries now feature “sexual health resource cabinets” inside public libraries, to give the public access to items like condoms, STD tests, and pregnancy tests.
These cabinets are being stocked by none other than Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion mill, and as one can imagine also sport QR codes so library patrons can easily find their local affiliate as well as information from the notorious organization.
As you can imagine, reactions are…mixed.
"It's a little shocking," parent Michael Reed told CBS News. "It's not the place where I would think about sex education going on."
"It seems a little inappropriate to target children in that way," he also said.
This is a normal reaction, of course, but the cabinets have their supporters.
"Libraries are essential to healthy, thriving communities, so having resources that are of interest and needs of that community is really critical," says Todd Deck, the community engagement services manager for Sacramento Public Libraries. "I do believe it is our responsibility to help have an informed community regardless of the topic, that way people can make informed decisions about their health."
Deck also told CBS that the library wants to “remove the stigma around these resources.” He says the cabinets, which are featured at 12 of the library system’s 28 locations, have been restocked multiple times since being installed six weeks ago.
Purportedly, the cabinets may not be “applicable to everyone” according to Deck, but it is unclear whether or not minors have access. Nonetheless, they are being placed on display where any patron can see them, either in the main hub or in the adult section of the library.
"That's great for adults to know they can come to the library and have resources that they possibly need," said mother of two Dream Gibson.
"I think exploring sexuality is healthy, but for a four-year-old, not necessarily the best thing," she also said. "To have it be publicly displayed for any and every one to view, I don't think it's necessarily appropriate."
While public libraries are a time-honored and invaluable resource in our great nation, the culture of public libraries has been nothing short of radical for some time now.
For example, the American Library Association’s one-time president Emily Drabinski, who served from July 2022 to 2024, is a self-avowed “Marxist lesbian” who once wrote a paper on “queering the catalogue” and has said widly inflammatory things about parents who don’t want their children to read sexually inappropriate literature.
Just before stepping into the role of president of the ALA, Drabinski said during a talk at the City University of New York said of parents who want to “ban books about LGBT experience:”
“You ban these books not because you don't want people to read them, but because you don't want black people, Jewish people, gay people to exist at all.”
She added that this was “scary and violent.”
This is very basic and quite pointed slander against parents who simply don’t want their children finding books that discuss sex and sexuality in highly graphic and inappropriate ways and are often targeted at teenagers, like the books “Lawn Boy” and “Gender Queer.”
To say nothing of the trend of “Drag Queen Story Hour” and such events.
So while we can’t be surprised that some public libraries have now partnered with Planned Parenthood to troll for new customers, we must recognize this as the latest shocking development in a taxpayer-funded culture of death that has swept our public educational facilities as well as our society at large.
Taxpayers shouldn't be forced to fund this. Damn liberals.
Sounds like planned parenthood is getting payers money in multiple ways hmmm. That's valuable space in a library(for books!) tax payers pay for and they already get money for their death chambers of hell and there murderers working there. That now they are forcing us to give them more money(via the library)! I'm a rape victim and I remember how the hospital was insisting me to have an abortion and they didn't even know if i was pregnant or not! But they had pills in hand and or ride to planned parenthood who would convince me to "do the right thing and have an abortion, because 'it' wouldn't be wanted because 'it' was mixed!"ummm the baby! You mean! I told them. "No it's trash in you now" i was also told. But there is no way that anyone could've told me a mixed child isn't wanted! And i would've loved the baby. I wasn't pregnant after all. But give me new meaning to their sick ways of trying to force abortion on people. (Several years have gone by and no kids, and i wish i had actually been pregnant at that time regardless of the horrible circumstances and injuries i had from it. )
