Pennsylvania Social Workers Asked to Determine if Newborns Are “Nonbinary”

Social workers in Pennsylvania appear to be required to note if a baby is male, female, or “nonbinary” on official demographic reporting for their cases.

Data collection forms for programs that use state funding to provide assistance to babies and their families no longer ask workers to specify a baby’s sex, but now list “gender” options including “Gender Nonbinary” as required by the state Office of Child Development and Early Learning.

"I have to ask clients, 'Is your 10-day-old male, female, or nonbinary?'" one worker explains, according to the Washington Free Beacon which obtained the government forms in question.

Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services, meanwhile, claims that workers are merely given the option to list a baby’s gender as “nonbinary,” and that workers are not directed to “verbally or explicitly” ask parents if their “children are nonbinary."

The outlet also notes that a review by England’s National Health Service, an entity which has been criticized for providing public assistance to “affirm” the “gender identity” of children, found that it is “not a neutral act” to expose little ones to these concepts.

While it often passes as “science,” gender theory is a distinct ideology that is rooted in ideas that oppose the biblical worldview. It is indeed far from neutral to, for example, raise a child from birth as though he or she is not made male or female, respectively.

So many people, like these social workers, are deeply embedded within a system that is quickly normalizing this practice despite the host of concerns being raised by critics. Let us pray that many eyes would be opened — and mouths unstopped — to the reality of this harmful ideology.
