LGBT Activist Group Gives Almost $700K for Programs in US Public Schools
“The group is funding programs and curricula that are inappropriate for children and certainly inappropriate for classrooms in public schools.”
An LGBT group has awarded more than 70 schools in the U.S. and Canada $10,000 each to fund programs that disseminate gender ideology in the classroom and after school clubs.
One such program includes working with the notorious anti-Catholic group the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the members of which dress up as garish “nuns” and make a mockery of the Christian faith.
The “It Gets Better Project” has awarded the nearly $700,000 to help establish “Gender Sexuality Alliance” (GSA) clubs and “gender transition closets” along with a program which sends students back-to-school shopping with the “Sisters.”
“The group is funding programs and curricula that are inappropriate for children and certainly inappropriate for classrooms in public schools,” Erika Sanzi, the director of operations for the group Parents Defending Education (PDE), told the Daily Caller News Foundation of the funding.
“The fact that they funded a program for a public school to work with the anti-Catholic organization Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence shows that the group is more than willing to work with those who practice bigotry against Americans who think and believe differently from them,” she noted.
Schools are also using the funds to put together LGBT events, create “gender transition” wardrobes, establish “queer” student unions, and share LGBT literature with students at the public and charter schools in receipt of the grants.
