Kentucky Science Center gives kids sexually explicit workbooks on field trips
The museum has cut ties with Planned Parenthood following the “inadvertent” mix-up that placed graphic content in the hands of children
The Kentucky Science Center has cut ties with Planned Parenthood after a number of children visiting for field trips were “inadvertently” given adult coloring books containing sexual graphics.
According to local media as reported by CBN News, several groups of 8-11 year old children received copies of the coloring book during the museum’s “Health and Wellness Days.
Some pages include drawings of genitalia and birth control devices like IUDs and condoms, political messages about protecting abortion access, and “Sex Libs,” a word game reminiscent of Mad Libs.
"Planned Parenthood provided this material without our consent, and it does not reflect our policies or the intended content for this event,” the Kentucky Science Center said in a statement posted to Facebook following uproar. "We deeply regret the harm this caused. We are taking immediate steps to ensure that all materials distributed at our events are thoroughly reviewed in advance, and this partner is no longer welcome at the Science Center.”
The museum’s senior manager of marketing and communications told WLKY that Planned Parenthood essentially forced itself upon the museum and unprofessionally minimized its capacity for quality control of free materials handed out to children.
"Planned Parenthood requested to come (we did not reach out and invite) and was authorized to table at the event, however, we did request to see their materials beforehand and they did not provide those and showed up late (arrival time of 9 a.m., they showed at 10:30 a.m.). This made it difficult to assess the materials as the event was well under way (it began at 10 a.m.). As we became aware, we immediately ceased the distribution of the book," Taylor U'Sellis, senior manager of marketing and communications for the science center, told the outlet.
In response to the backlash on social media, Planned Parenthood offered an apology replete with a full-throated defense of the content of the coloring book.
“We have learned that a staff member inadvertently distributed an item that wouldn’t typically be used in a setting like this event, along with many other accurate and age-appropriate materials. While all material at the event was medically accurate, we apologize for this error and are reviewing our internal protocols,” Jennifer Allen of Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai'i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky told the Courier-Journal, according to Todd Starnes.
Notice the insistence that the material was “medically accurate”? If you peruse some of the pages from the coloring book yourself, you’ll see it’s nothing short of blatantly biased, pro-abortion propaganda.
This is why Planned Parenthood wanted to be part of a “health and wellness” event and why it operates; to push, promote, lobby for, and perform abortion. That’s their entire goal and MO. And it is why they should be defunded and dismantled as an organization, let alone given access to children.
This should be reported NATIONALLY that PP distribute
This is absolutely disgusting. Sounds like a lawsuit to me.
