Kamala Harris calls pro-life lawmakers "extremists"
The Vice President thinks trying to save babies is extremism
Vice President Kamala Harris recently described lawmakers seeking to restrict or ban abortion as “extremists.”
In an interview with actress Sofia Bush, Harris also repeated a patent falsehood about the state of abortion legislation in the United States.
“State after state, we have seen extremists, so-called leaders, propose and pass laws that would criminalize health care providers, some of them literally legislating prison for life, punishing women, making no exception even for rape and incest,” Harris claimed.
LifeNews notes that not a single state law in the United States either before or after Roe v. Wade was overturned would legally punish abortion-seeking women. Rather, abortionists are subject to legal and professional repercussions for committing abortions.
“We are looking at a situation in our country where there are people who are literally suffering, many, most, silently suffering because of what has been proposed and or passed in states across our country,” Harris nonetheless declared. “The topic for today, here, is the topic of what has happened in our country after the Dobbs decision, which took away the rights of people to make decisions for their own body.”
The implication is stomach-churning; ignoring the suffering of millions of unborn babies sentenced to death at the hands of abortionists, Harris is suggesting that women who carry their babies to full term are “silently suffering” as a result of not having access to a fatal abortion procedure.
Women have rights to their own bodies — but no one has a right to kill anyone else. Even when that person is growing inside of a woman’s body.

A father of eleven and dedicated advocate for the unborn who was arrested at gunpoint in front of his children last year has been convicted of charges carrying a sentence of up to ten years in prison.
Paul Vaughn of Centerville, Tennessee is one of six non-violent activists slammed with federal charges over a “rescue” operation conducted at a Mt. Juliet abortion mill in 2021.
LifeSiteNews reports that Chester Gallagher of Lebanon, Tennessee; Heather Idoni and Calvin Zastrow of Michigan; Coleman Boyd of Bolton, Mississippi, and Dennis Green of Cumberland, Virginia were convicted of Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act charges last week.
The activists were arrested and charged after they entered and sat in the clinic praying and singing hymns. Then 87-year-old concentration camp survivor Eva Edl was among those arrested over the peaceful demonstration.
Attorneys for Vaughn plan to appeal the conviction, as an attorney for the Thomas More Society said in a statement.
“We are, of course, disappointed with the outcome,” Steve Crampton, Thomas More Society Senior Counsel, said. “This was a peaceful demonstration by entirely peaceable citizens—filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship—oriented toward persuading expecting mothers not to abort their babies. Unfortunately, the Biden Department of Justice decided to characterize Paul Vaughn’s peaceful actions as a felony ‘conspiracy against rights,’ to intimidate and punish Paul and other pro-life people and people of faith.”

As the Democratic Party prepares for the 2024 election, its strategists have made clear that among all the issues pressing upon everyday Americans, legal access to deadly abortion procedures will be its most important national issue.
The Hill reported this week that Democratic strategists have “vowed” to “make abortion their top issue on the campaign trail this year,” banking on Republican efforts to restrict or ban abortion to drive voters to the polls.
“This is the pivotal issue of 2024. It is the fight that will determine the trajectory of the next four years, and the next four decades,” Democratic House Whip Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) told reporters.
“Wherever we travel across the country, whoever we talk to, abortion is top of mind for our constituents and for voters,” she continued. “Millions of people are suffering under the brutality of MAGA abortion bans. And those in states that still have protected abortion access are scared of the GOP’s march to a national abortion ban.”
The Daily Wire notes that this messaging is consistent with that of President Joe Biden, who has blamed former President Donald Trump, the Republican party primary frontrunner, for restrictive abortion laws following the overturn of Roe v. Wade in 2022.
Ironically, although Trump has himself been critical of the Republican focus on anti-abortion legislation, he ran in 2016 with the promise of filling the Supreme Court with justices that would overturn the 1973 decision that effectively legalized abortion in the United States.

Ronald Reagan said it best I believe, that he noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born! How can you not know that a pregnancy is an unborn child? Just look around the room. Sounds pretty normal to me.
