Illinois Planned Parenthood Injures Two Women in Two Weeks
In 911 calls, staffers were reluctant to tell dispatchers what had happened
The same Planned Parenthood in Illinois appears to have injured two women during abortion procedures in less than two weeks — and 911 tapes reveal the shocking reluctance of staffers to tell dispatchers what had happened or where the emergency was even located.
Live Action reports that the abortion facility in Flossmoor, Illinois was incredibly evasive when calling in the emergencies, which involved a woman suffering from seizures and severe bleeding, respectively, both following an abortion.
Operation Rescue obtained the audio from the calls, which were placed on July 13 and July 25.
In the first call, the 911 dispatcher managed to identify the facility as Planned Parenthood but when she repeated the address to the facility’s staffer that was placing the call, the staffer replied “Actually no, but that’s OK,” and refused to give the correct address.
“You don’t have any place to send?” the dispatcher asked, but received no reply. “Hello?” she prompted further.
Reluctantly, the Planned Parenthood staffer replied, “Yes, that would be correct.”
She then struggled to articulate the nature of the emergency, describing it as a “code abortion.”
“Uh, we do have a patient, that she, um, code, um, abortion,” the staffer said. “And I think she’s kind of having a seizure, but she thinks she’s OK. So, I’m not sure.”
In the call placed on July 25, another staffer used the same cryptic description for the emergency, “code abortion,” when asked by a dispatcher what was wrong with the patient.
After asking five times to elaborate on the nature of the emergency, the dispatcher finally got an answer from the abortion facility staffer.
“So, it’s post-abortion,” she said. “They’re having some uncontrolled bleeding from the cervix.”
Operation Rescue explained that the term “code abortion” may have been an attempt to cover up the fact that the emergencies stemmed from abortions.
“They know 911 calls are public records. They know abortion is not safe and they want to minimize awareness of the serious risks that it can bring to women, using vague and ambiguous language to cover up the grave danger of these emergencies,” the organization’s president Troy Newman said, as quoted by Live Action.
“We are noticing that these clinics are using this strategy more frequently to avoid being held accountable for the damage an abortion can bring, not only to a baby, whose life is ended in a cruel way, but to the mother as well. These bloody ‘businesses’ must be held accountable.”
