Ghislaine Maxwell Just Hired Harvey Weinstein’s Attorney to Appeal Sex Abuse Conviction
Maxwell has the funds following a messy divorce settlement.
Notorious sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell has hired an attorney who represented fellow sex offender and disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein to appeal her high-profile conviction.
Thanks to a settlement she has secured following a messy divorce from her now-ex-husband Scott Borgerson, Maxwell has reportedly secured the funds to hire the same firm that has represented Weinstein against his multiple charges for sexual abuse and rape.
“Attorney Arthur L. Aidala — who is representing disgraced movie mogul Weinstein in his New York appeal — confirmed to us that he filed legal papers on Friday to rep Maxwell in her planned appeal,” Page Six reported last month.
Aidala told Page Six that he believes the trial judge made “mistakes” in the Maxwell case and that she had been “mistreated” and “malnourished” during her incarceration.
Maxwell, a socialite and daughter to the late British media proprietor, statesmen, and suspected spy Robert Maxwell, has long been accused of playing madame to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and helping him run an illicit child sex trafficking ring. She was convicted last year for grooming four of her former boyfriend’s victims for abuse. Epstein died in 2019 awaiting charges, while Maxwell was arrested in 2020.
Weinstein, meanwhile, was arguably the biggest figure taken down by the #MeToo movement when accusers came forward with stories of systematic abuse and outright sexual assault against a man who has been a behemoth influence in the movie industry for decades.
Epstein’s victims have already been robbed of the opportunity to have real justice, let us pray that Maxwell’s aren’t, and trust that they would also come to know the One Who will bring perfect justice to the whole world one day!
