Tucker Carlson says the quiet part out loud
Former Fox News host and culture war personality Tucker Carlson recently drew a striking comparison between modern-day abortion practices and child sacrifice rituals throughout history.
“Human sacrifice, the sacrifice of children, the killing of children is the one constant in human civilization,” he noted while speaking to a gala held by The Center for Christian Virtue, as LifeNews reported.
Carlson first explained that there was a point when he could “sort of see the other side” when it came to political issues.
Yet the radical abortion issue has marked a departure from the “competing visions for how to improve people’s lives” that used to comprise the political landscape.
Pointing to two ballot initiatives in Ohio that respectively codify “abortion rights” into the state constitution and decriminalize drug use, Carlson asked “who’s benefitting here?” when it comes to promoting the slaughter of unborn children and drug use.
He pointed to the prevalence of child sacrifice in the Bible, which God “singled out” as “detestable.”
“Why were people doing that?” Carlson asked of the ritualistic sacrifices frequently mentioned in the Old Testament kingdoms. “Because, of course, they believed that they were getting power and contentment and happiness in return.”
Sound familiar?
Carlson expounded on this point by explaining that it wasn’t just the notoriously blood Aztecs and Mayans of Mesoamerica that ritualistically sacrificed children, but civilizations across the globe and throughout history.
Then, he made the very stirring point that the impulse to sacrifice one’s own children couldn’t possibly happen “organically,” as it would defy evolutionary biology.
“That’s an idea, an impulse that was introduced,” Carlson argued. “Outside forces are acting on people at all times throughout history in every culture on the planet to convince people that if they sacrifice their children they will be happy and safe.”
“And that’s exactly what this is,” he continued. “This is a religious rite. This is not a policy debate, they’re not telling you that some girl got raped at 13 and she needs to go to college and therefore, unfortunately, we need to abort the child. No. That was 20 years ago. Now they’re saying, ‘Abortion is itself a pathway to joy.’ Really? So this is not a political debate, this is a spiritual battle. There is no other conclusion.”

As the 40 Days for Life campaign kicks off around the world, some elated activists in Ecuador report that a faithful priest who had dispatched to an abortion clinic to pray for the ill-fated mothers and children has saved at least one life.
40 Days for Life kicked off on September 27, and Ecuadorian activists beginning their campaign reported that a woman who was dissuaded from aborting her child after seeing participants in a spring campaign is now a mother.
LifeNews reports that the Latin American director of the international pro-life campaign shared that this woman is happily enjoying her new child, all because she saw a sign pleading for life.
“She saw the 40 Days for Life sign and people gathered in prayer,” said Lourdes Varela. “She felt a pang in her heart, started crying, and immediately gave up on having an abortion.”
“Just by looking up and seeing a 40 Days for Life sign, a life was saved,” she explained. “How many lives are saved by just reading a banner promoting prayer for life?”
LifeNews pointed to a number of children who were born after their mothers had encounters with pro-life activists participating in the 40-day campaign to end abortion.
What a valuable reminder that our signs, prayers, vocal professions of faith and the value of every single human life can make a bigger difference than we know!
Let us continue to pray fervently for every mother currently considering abortion, and for every child inside the womb uniquely designed by God to fill her heart with joy.

There are nearly no longer any ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, the region recently invaded by Azerbaijan in a recent military offensive that dissolved decades of attempted peace in the region.
Roughly 100,000 have fled their homeland, which has a rich Christian history tracing back centuries and surviving through repressive Soviet occupation.
The region is home to hundreds of Christian churches and monasteries, and while it is internationally recognized as part of the Muslim-majority Azerbaijan, it has considered itself to be a sovereign republic governed by ethnic Armenians.
Although Azerbaijan has promised to protect the rights of Armenians following a military offensive in which the nation seized Nagorno-Karabakh, refugees told Reuters that they would rather flee than live under its notoriously despotic government.
Now, many fear the mass exodus of ethnic Armenians poses a threat to the Christian history of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"This is one of the darkest pages of Armenian history. The whole of Armenian history is full of hardships... The blow we are receiving now is one of the heaviest," Armenian priest Father David told Reuters.
There are concerns that monasteries and other religious sites may be destroyed amid the chaos of invasion, although no such reports have yet been confirmed.
Father David explained that Azerbaijan may now claim that many of the ancient sites in its newly-acquired, historically Armenian territory are not Armenian, but Caucasian, a common slight used to undermine the history of one of the world’s oldest Christian civilizations.
"Probably they will try to distort history, to say there is no Armenian trace here," the priest explained.
Let us pray for the tens of thousands of refugees who have been forced to flee their homeland, that they would find comfort and peace in the God Who knows no international borders!
